What advantage do weather satellites have over ground-based weather stations? Why are so many station models used to gather weather data in the United States?

Weather satellites give an overview from above the clouds, and storms, hurricanes, and other weather changes can be forecasted at an early stage, as compared to the over-ground satellites. They can also monitor fire, pollution, volcanoes, dust storms etc.

Weather keeps changing, so to keep track of the weather, in every corner of the world, numerous satellites, and thus the stations are required. More data leads to accurate weather forecasts.
