How does law differ from theory

    I am assuming here that the question is referring to the difference between scientific law and scientific theory. A scientific law is something that can be observed, and therefore known with certainty to be true. Scientific theory is the explanation for said laws, and even if a theory has allegedly been proved it does not become law.
