Phenothiazines are a class of typical antipsychotics. The most primary example of a phenothiazine antipsychotic is Chlorpromazine. The major side effect of these phenothiazines are sudden involuntary almost Parkinsonian-like movements called tardive dyskinesia and anticholinergic drugs such as Benztropine control the incidence of tardive dyskinesia in patients taking phenothiazines.
