I believe, this may be a good thing simply because, New genes can enter the population and be acted upon by evolution. The errors and mistakes during DNA replication may result to mutations in the sequences of the bases. These mutations may be advantageous in several ways which includes; essential for survival as organisms are able to adapt to different environments and also they create diversity or uniqueness among organisms.
