A pediatric client is to receive furosemide 4 mg/kg/day in one daily dose. the client weighs 20 kg. the oral solution comes as 8mg/ml. how many teaspoons should be administered in each dose? record your answer using a whole number.

    72 lb 2.2 = 32.7 kg * 8 mg/day = 261.6 mg/day 4 doses = 65.4 mg per dose. Calculate safe hourly dose. 44 lb 2.2 = 20 kg * 3 mEq/24 hours = 60 mEq/24 hours 60 mEq : 24 hours = x mEq : 1 hour

    x = 2.5 mEq per hour.
