What is the difference between a polysomnography and electroencephalography?

    There is a big difference. A polysomnograph is only capable of measuring the electrical activity associated with eye movement, in particular during sleep. An EEG measures the electrical current that are passing in your brain and is not limited to sleep medicine but neurology and diagnostic medicine. You'd use a poly. During sleep studies.
