First, you never want to just tap water in your cooling system. If you live in colder climates the water will cause catastrophic damage to your engine and cooling system by freezing. In the summer that water will act like if you put a sealed pot of water on the stove and turned the burner on high. Look in your owners manual and see how much coolant your car holds. General rule is that your water/anitfreeze mix should be 50/50. They sell already premixed one gallon jugs of this, take your car in to a service station or oil change and place and they can take care of it for you
