What would have to happen to the DNA for PKD-1 for the protein to emerge defective

    PKD-1 gene is responsible for the protein production in kidney cells. Defective PKD-1 gene has DNA mutations that have an effect on protein functions. These DNA mutations include the change of the DNA sequence, deleted and inserted DNA nitrogen base pairs.
