Salt, oil and vinegar are nonliving, although the latter two are derived from once-living things.
There are likely to be living cells in fresh fruits and vegetables; you might be able to sprout seeds, for example. There will be live bacteria in buttermilk, sour cream, yogurt, and some cheeses. Anything preserved (e. g. raisins, olives, bacon) is dead.
