In many or most animals, females are larger than males. most animals are insects and in many insects, females tend to be much larger than males because they are under strong selection for producing large numbers of eggs, and larger females can produce more eggs. is this an example of sexual selection?

    The above is not an example of sexual selection because sexual selection is about differential success in acquiring males. In sexual selection one biological sex chose mates of other sex to mate with. and compete with members of the same sex for access of members of opposite sex

    This type of scenario is not an example of sexual selection. Sexual selection is really just about the differential success that is found when someone or something is trying to acquire a mate.
