The answer to this question is To become eligible to accept Medicare patients

Accordint to Section 1865 (a) (1) of the Social Security Act (the Act), only the hospital that earned the accreditation by the Government could take care of Medicare patients. Which means that the hospital could widen their market segmentation and improve their profit.
