It is an example of reverse hierarchical diffusion. During reverse hierarchical diffusion something is spread in an orderly fashion through expansion. Walmart has become one of if not the biggest retailer in the world due to its low prices and expansion into other states and countries. This could only be possible if it spread from one town to another building its foundation and reputation.
