    There are many ways to avoid miscommunication when receiving telephone orders. 1) Abbreviations should be avoided when an order is given or received. 2) The content of verbal orders should be clearly communicated. 3) All verbal orders should be immediately written and signed by the individual receiving the order indicating the author of the order.
