    The "grapevine" at job is representatives of the firm who speak with other coworkers about things going on. Also, it can be called gossip. Some situations that go away a "grapevine" at a firm are people who are going to give up, people who actually know private details about others who may be high up in the business, and little things like why someone has called in for the day to function. A manager can disregard the little things and focus on the bigger and much more serious problems that dispersed on the "grapevine".
