Think about your own experiences with people from other ethnic groups and with attitudes expressed about relations with other countries. Describe one or two examples of a time when you may have imposed your own views and feelings about life on the experience of others.

During a summer job I had to work with 2 people form Brazil and one form Switzerland. We were in New York and had to prepare a report about an investment in Turkey.

It was not easy, but at least everyone was able to speak and write fluently in English. Well everyone except the guys in Turkey because for some reason I never understood they spoke Turkish and German only. Luckily the Swiss guy spoke German, so he was our interpreter.

Generally speaking our team had similar ideas and work habits but the Turkish guys d were extremely different. Even their labor days are different, their week starts on Saturday and ends on Wednesday. The problem was that we needed to present a weekly report every Friday.

It was very difficult to understand how they worked and it was even more difficult to get them to work on their weekend. Sometimes they even sent us information on German and we had to get it translated. It wasn't easy to work with them and luckily it was only a couple of months. Whenever we tried to speak to them they always seemed to be screaming and it took a lot of work to convince them to do things like we did.

They had to write in English and they sent us a weekly report on Thursdays.

An example of when I imposed my own views and feelings about life based of the experience of others is when a friend from mexico told me there experience migrating to the US. What they experience and the struggles they faced made me feel more appreciative of things.
