Critics complain about the emerging industrial order mainly because of the poor working conditions to which the individual was exposed, poor income distribution, and employees earning very low wages, and sometimes the salary was only a few cents. They also faced long working hours without rights to basic needs such as food, hygiene and rest. Workers were mistreated and not respected for age and physical condition, which would lead to stressful health consequences that were often irreversible.

Criticism was important for the beginning of changing working conditions and the protection and right of the worker.
