    C. supply and demand

    Explanation:

Free trade is a concise term for an arrangement of exchanges that take place in society. Each exchange takes place as a voluntary agreement between two people or between groups of people represented by agents. These two individuals (or agents) exchange two economic goods, both tangible commodities and non-tangible services. So when I buy a newspaper from a newsboy for fifty cents, the newsboy and I exchange two commodities: I give the newsboy fifty cents, and he hands me the newspaper. Or, if I work for a corporation, I exchange my labor services, in a mutually agreed manner, for a monetary wage - here the corporation is represented by a manager (an agent) with the authority to hire.

This exchange can be represented by the acts of selling and buying. For this reason, we can conclude that one of the consequences of free trade is supply and demand.
