There are two types of data that are used while conducting a research. One is the Primary Data and the other is Secondary Data. Primary data is the data that is collected primarily for the specific research. Secondary data is the data that is used in a research but is collected for some other purpose. For example, while conducting a marketing research, if a company needs the demographic stats of a specific group, the data from the consensus can be used as a secondary source of the data to be used in the research.
