Why do you think that setting goals that are easy to achieve might lower motivation? ...

    Because then it may seem as if you aren't trying hard. You just keep setting some small easy to achieve goals. So, am example goal would be: clean the house today. However, with a goal such as: buy a new car, would be a long term goal. You would have to work towards.
