Purchasing agents derive much of their power within the buying center through which role?

Purchasing agents by being the ones who control the money that a particular company spends in other words the amount of money and which vendors are chosen therefore have significant economic power. Also they can influence the speed with which an order can be obtained partly by controlling which carriers pick it up and deliver it and by explaining to the manufacturer the urgency of the order. Their role is that of the intermediary between the purchasing company and the vendors.
