    Among all the choices, savings account is the least risky investment type. Saving money allows you to prepare for large purchases, having little interest, access your money easily with little or no fees and are more secure because they are backed by the government. They are also tax-free both on state and local levels. However, since it has the lowest risk it will have the lowest return. Savings account also have a minimum balance requirement.
