If a 10.0 g mass of aluminum increases from 20.0 °C to 35.0 °C, how much heat was required? (0.903 J/g°C)

    The amount of heat is calculated with the formula

    q = m x Ce x ΔT

    q = heat

    m = mass

    Ce = specific heat

    ΔT = change in temperature

    m = 10.0 g

    Ce = 0.903 J/gC

    ΔT = Tf - Ti = 35.0 - 20.0 = 15

    q = 10.0g x 0.903 J/gC x 15 = 135.45 J
