How many moles of co2 are produced when 10 mol of propane (c3h8) is burned in excess oxygen?

    Propane on complete combustion given carbon dioxide and water.

    The balance reaction of this process is shown below:

    C3H8 + 5O2 → 3CO2 + 4H2O

    (1 mole) (3 mole)

    From the above balanced equation it can be seen that

    Complete combustion of 1 mole of propane generates 3 moles of CO2

    ∴ Complete combustion of 1 moles of propane will generate 30 moles of CO2
