    Given:

    0.050 mol NaCl

    0.050 mol AgNO3

    500 mL of 3.0 M NH3

    Set-up a balanced chemical equation:

    NaCl + AgNO3 = = = > NaNO3 + AgCl

    The nitric acid will serve as a catalyst for the reaction in order to from the silver nitrate precipitate.
