Chromatography is the technique which separates chemicals by using a solid stationary phase and a liquid mobile phase.

    Explanation:

Chromatography technique is employed to separate chemicals on the basis of the difference in their polarity. In chromatography the stationary phase is usually a polar phase and the mobile phase is of less polarity compared to stationary phase. Hence less polar chemicals will travel with less polar mobile phase and highly polar chemicals will remain with polar stationary phases. And with increase in polarity of mobile phase the polar chemicals start to move along with it. In this way mixture of chemicals are being separated one by one starting from less polar and ending with highly polar.
