Orbitals are three regions near the nucleus where electrons are found. Each orbital has a specific energy corresponding to it. s orbitals are spherical and a number is associated with it called the principal quantum number. Examples are 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 6s. The s orbitals occurs as a single orbital.
