If you have 100.0ml of a 30.0% aqueous solution of ethanol, what volume of ethanol is in the solution?

    Percent by volume is equal to the volume of the solute over the total volume of the solution times 100%. Therefore,

    30 = volume of ethanol / 100 mL x 100

    volume of ethanol = 30 mL
