Which formula represents lead (ii) chromate? and why is it this?

    The formula for lead chromate is PbCrO4. This is because the Pb is the lead part - it is the first in the formula with one lead atom. Next is CrO4 - chromate. It has a negative charge (-2) and it stands for one chromium atom and four oxygen atoms.
