    Answer : Option A) Chemical change in step 1 and physical change in step 2.

    Explanation : When the student poured the colorless solution into another liquid there was a chemical reaction that took place and produced a precipitate which was yellow in color. Later on, in step 2 when these precipitate particles settled it left a colorless liquid at the top, so, this was a physical change no new substance was produced just a physical process had taken place, and through decantation it was removed.
