When we inhale the oxygen goes inside which breaks glucose and gives you energy and then Co2 is given out. The process is respiration, and breathing is an external manifestation of respiration.

The air goes into your lungs and the blood collects the oxygen and replaces it with carbon dioxide ... then you exhale the co2 out
