    The correct answer is C. Groups 2, 3, 4.

The main groups of elements which are in the periodic table include, group1, group2, and group 13 up to group 18.

These groups are the representative elements. Group 1 contains all the alkali metals which include sodium, lithium, potassium, and francium.

They react with halogens to form an ionic salt. For example, sodium chloride.

Group 2 contains Alkaline earth metals which include barium, strontium, radium, calcium, and magnesium. They are less active than alkali metals. They are named after their oxides.

Group 13 is the Boron group. It includes indium, thallium, gallium, and aluminium. Aluminum it is known to be the third most abundant element on earth crust.
