In order to buffer a strong acid into a weak acid, which has a less dramatic effect on ph, what chemical should be used as the buffer?

    Whatever that acid's salt is.

    Different acids = different buffers.

    Take the acid's conjugate base and bond it to a group 1 element that is not hydrogen. (usually Sodium or Potassium)
