When the elements are combined and they share electrons the type of bond formed is named covalent.

Covalent bond results when the valence electrons of two atoms are shared; in this case the shared electrons are considered to be part of the complete outer energy level of both atoms.

A molecule is formed when two or more atoms are bonded through covalent bonds.
