Consider an atom of sodium with an atomic number of 11 and an atomic weight of 23. how many neutrons are in this atom

    The element Sodium (Na) has atomic number 11 and mass number 23. The number of protons in sodium is equal to it's atomic number.

    therefore;

    No. of neutrons=mass number-atomic number

    =23-11

    =12
