    The product at each electrode in the electrolysis of NaBr is as follows

    At the anode is bromine

    that is Br^ - (aq) = Br2 (aq) + 2e-

    at the catode is sodium

    that is Na^ + (aq) + 2e - = Na (s)

    Bromine is produced at the anode since the standard potential of bromide oxidation is less positive than that of oxidation of water.
