What is the % (w/v) concentration of a solution containing 12 grams of solute in 400 ml of solution?

    Weight/volume percentage = mass of the solute/volume of solution x 100

    mass of the solute = 12grams

    volume of solution = 400ml

    therefore % (w/v) = 12 / 400 x100 = 3%
