Let's express all of these laws in term of constant k, pressure P, temperature T, and volume V: Boyle's law: PV = k, Charles law: V = kT, Dalton’s law: P = P₁ + P₂ + P₃ + ..., Gay-Lussac’s law: PV = kT. If doubling the absolute temperature doubles the pressure of a sample of gas, than temperature T and pressure P must be on different sides of the equation. This is the case only in Gay-Lussac’s law: PV = kT.
