    3Mg, 2P, 14O, 12 H

    Explanation:

Since it is a balanced equation, the number of atoms of each element would be equal on both sides of the equation

    Let's do it by elimination:

The easiest element to calculate is Mg. Since there is a 3 before Mg (OH) 2, number of Mg atoms = 3

This leaves us with either option 1 or 3.

Let's check the number of Phosphorous atoms. Since there is a number 2 before phosphoric acid, the number of P atoms is 2. Hence the first option is correct.

    Let's check:

    Number of Oxygen atoms = 3 (2) + 2 (4) = 14

    Number of Hydrogen atoms = 3 (2) + 3 (2) = 12

    Thus, option 1 is correct.

Do note that numbers that appears before a compound applies to all the elements in that compound, numbers that appear after a letter (element) applies only to that element, and numbers that come after a bracket applies to all the elements within the bracket.
