    Explanation:

    We can visualize quarks as charges. There are three subatomic particles. These are the protons, the electrons and the neutrons.

    While the proton and neutron reside in the nucleus, the electrons are in orbits around the nucleus. Now it is essential to know that while the electrons and protons are charged, the neutron does not have a charge. Hence we can say while we have positively charged quarks in protons, we have negatively charged quarks in electrons.

    These quarks are equal in number and thus contribute to the overall net charge of the atom which is electrically neutral. This electrical neutrality is as a result of equal number of quarks in the protons and electrons albeit positively and negatively respectively
