the 28 represents the mass number of Aluminum. And Naturally, aluminum has 13 protons (Atomic number)
so to find the number of Neutrons in aluminum, use this relation
Neutron number = mass number - proton or atomic number
substitute the values into it
neutron number = 28-13
neutron number = 15
therefore, there are 15 neutrons in the aluminum atom.
