What's the taste of lemon? Vinegar? They're are all sour, right? They're acidic. Acids are sour in taste. Ever tasted a soap? It's bitter. That's because it's made of alkaline salts. It has NaOH mixed with plant oils or animal fats, which gives the soapy action. Bases taste bitter. But that doesn't mean you go around your Chemistry laboratory tasting chemicals one by one, checking which are Acids and which are bases. Don't even attempt to taste sulphuric acid or hydrochloric acid to find their taste ... then probably you might never be able to taste ice cream, chocolates or pizza. You'll ruin your taste buds.
