Which of the following is the correct molecular equation for the following reaction?

Ca (ClO4) 2 (aq) + (NH4) 2SO4 (aq) →

Group of answer choices

Ca (ClO4) 2 (aq) + (NH4) 2SO4 (aq) → CaSO4 (s) + 2 NH4ClO4 (aq)

Ca2 + (aq) + 2 ClO4 - (aq) + 2 NH4 + (aq) + SO42 - (aq) → Ca2 + (aq) + 2 NH4 + (aq) + (ClO4) 2SO4 (s)

Ca (ClO4) 2 (aq) + (NH4) 2SO4 (aq) → CaSO4 (aq) + 2 NH4ClO4 (s)

Ca (ClO4) 2 (aq) + (NH4) 2SO4 (aq) → CaSO4 (aq) + 2 NH4ClO4 (aq)

Ca2 + (aq) + SO42 - (aq) → CaSO4 (s)

Ca (ClO₄) ₂ (aq) + (NH₄) ₂SO₄ (aq) → CaSO₄ (s) + 2 NH₄ClO₄ (aq)

    Explanation:

It is a double displacement reaction or also an acid base type reaction. When we add Calcium perchlorate (Ca (ClO₄) ₂) it dissociates into Perchloric acid and calcium ions. Similarly when we add Ammonium sulfate { (NH₄) ₂SO₄} in water it also dissociates into ammonium ion and sulfate ions.

Then the calcium ions and and sulfate ions reacts to form Calcium sulfate which is poorly soluble in water so it precipitates out as solid.

Similarly ammonium ions gets combine with perchlorate ions to make Ammonium perchlorate which is soluble in water, so it remain as aq form.
