Name the chemical compound

VO2. I got vanadium II oxide, but when I looked it up to check it, I got Vanadium IV Oxide. Why is that

    Answer: it is called vanadium (iv) oxide

    Explanation: the oxidation state of vanadium in VO2 is 4 as shown below

    VO2 = 0

    V + (-2 x 2) = 0

    V - 4 = 0

    V = + 4
