    d. - The model does not provide information about the type of rock in which fossils form.

    Explanation:

The fossils can be located in different parts like on land, shore and water. But, they were formed at different time, that means, they live in different ages, that is the reason why the model need to include the type of rock. Remember fossil form at different ages and with the pass of time different layers of rock formed.

    Hope this info is useful.

Option D. he model does not provide information about the type of rock in which fossils form.

    Explanation:

Fossil are formed in different rock types. These are formed in the different rock types. The formation fossils involves two things:

    1. temperature

    2. pressure

Great heat and pressure are involved in the formation of these fossils. These are thought to be formed about 150 billion years ago. These were formed into different types mainly into corals, shale, and in other cases fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gases.

The distribution of fossil fuels clearly indicate the rock type they are formed in. For instance, oil is formed in stratified (layered) rocks.

    Hence option D is correct.
