If energy was added (endothermic change) to remove the water from the salt, then what would happen energetically if water was added to the anhydrous salt? Explain

The binding of the anhydrous salt ions to water molecules releases lots of energy, which is more than the energy absorbed during the endothermic process. Such process of giving off energy is exothermic in nature.
