What is the difference between a subscript and a coefficient in a chemical reaction?

    Answer: The subscripts represents the number of atoms of each individual element in a compound. The coefficients indicates the number of moles each compound are present in the chemical reaction. Numerical coefficients are determined through balancing the chemical equation by comparing each subscripts in both the reactant and product side.
