How does ease of oxidation correlate with activity? Do highly active metals tend to donate electrons or accept electrons from other metals?

    Oxidation can be defined in terms of electrons as simply the loss of electrons.

    Activity on the other hand basically refers to how active/reactive an element is.

    In chemistry, highly reactive (or active) elements are ones that would easily accept or lose electrons.

    Oxidation thereby correlate with activity in the sense that if there is ease in it's loss of electrons (oxidation), it would readily react with other elements.

    Ease of oxidation leads to high activity basically.

    Second Question,

    The Highly active metals tend to donate electrons to other metals because it is relatively easy to do so and would require the least amount of energy.
