Both hydrogen sulfide and ammonia have strong, unpleasant odors. which gas had the higher effusion rate? if you opened a container of each gas in a corner of a large room, which odor would you detect first on the other side of the room? assume the temperature is constant

    I believe the correct answer would be NH3. It would be the gas with a higher effusion rate. Using the graham's law of effusion, we will obtain the ratio of the rates of NH3 to H2S having a value of 1.41 which signifies NH3 effuses faster. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day
