The primary (basic) function of neurons is to carry electric impulses thrughout the body and transfer messages from the brain.

The function of neurons is to act as electrical wiring in the body.
They assemble into cables that carry heat, pain, sight, and sound information
to the brain, and carry instructions from the brain to the muscles and organs.
