How does a balanced chemical equation illustrate that mass is never lost or gained in a chemical reation?

    In a balanced chemical equation the number of molecules involved in a reaction remains the same on both sides of the equation showing that whether it is a synthesis reaction or a degradation reaction the mass involved (molecules) remains constant or are maintained.
